Connie Hagar – First Lady of Texas Birding

Connie Hagar Exhibit: (22-August through 24-October 2015)

The exhibit showcases Hagar’s early life and adolescence in East Texas as well as her fascination with nature. The significance of her many years in Rockport will be presented. The items on display include several field guide cards Hagar used to record bird sightings, a star map that dates to her childhood, numerous poetry books with personalized inscriptions, and various awards Hagar collected throughout her lifetime.
The exhibit was made possible in part by a grant from Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities.
